Job description
This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after the initial training period is complete.
Hourly pay rate is subject to current wage determination under the Services Contract Act.
Essential Functions
- Prepares or revises drawings of systems from mark-ups, or sketches. Describes dimensions, and standard parts from information supplied by the design originator and/or from technical handbooks and manuals
- Prepares or revises floor/building layouts rack elevations, and assemblies/sub-assemblies from established practices in 2D format
- Coordinates and supports Engineering in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and standard MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.,) products
- Familiarity with CREO Elements, or other solid modeling software, preferred but not required
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., Windchill or equivalent preferred
- Familiarity with materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware designs/parts
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Academic knowledge of conventional electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, or architectural drafting techniques
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated from the COVID-19 virus, which means two weeks have passed since a single-shot vaccine or the second dose of a two-shot vaccine. Requests for medical or religious accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- May occasionally travel to remote sites, ex. Pillar Point Air Force Station and Pt. Mugu
