EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 54,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Drug Tester/ Observer to work part- time for the Rockland Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC).
The Drug Tester/ Observer position is an non-exempt position paying $25 per hour at up to 4 hours per week. The office is located in Rockland County, NY. The role reports to Program Supervisor.
Primary Purpose of Job:
Conducts supervised toxicology tests for participants in the Rockland TASC ATI program.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet with program participants at assigned time and location.
- Review Chain of Custody for with participant.
- Sign and have participant sign Chain of Custody form as required.
- Escort participant to the restroom.
- Review toxicology testing procedures with participant.
- Unseal testing equipment in front of participant and give to participant,
- Observe participant provide urine sample.
- Report any visible signs of toxicology tampering by participant.
- Observe participant seal test cup.
- Prepare test cup and Chain of Custody Form for transfer to laboratory.
- Note test completion on testing log.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Experience working with the criminal justice population.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule up to 4 hours weekly.
This position requires the incumbent to provide acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
