Tri-County Health Care (TCHC) is seeking EMT's, LPN's or CNA's with a passion to be part of the Emergency Department (ED) as an ED Technician. TCHC has been providing services to the Wadena, Otter Tail, and Todd county communities for nearly 100 years. You will join a vibrant healthcare organization that is growing with over 450 employees, five primary clinic locations, and a brand new main clinic site to be opened spring of 2023. We have several staff who have made TCHC their home for over 20 years as we are family-orientated, and passionate about serving our patients and are looking to add to our family.
The ED Technician role at TCHC is casual, scheduled every third Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am-9:00pm. This position is perfect for those seeking additional hours on the weekends beyond their primary job or while attending school. ED Technicians are responsible for providing patient care under the direction of the Registered Nursing and Provider staff. ED Technicians are vital in our workflow processes as they aid in the direct care of our patients.

Some responsibilities of the ED Technician include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Providing safe, effective patient care by completing assigned ED duties
  • Taking vital signs
  • Telemetry, accu-checks and CPR
  • Oxygen setup
  • Cleaning beds and equipment
  • Perform spinal immobilization and patient restraint as directed by the RN
  • Moving patients with slide boards and other adjuncts
  • Assistance with splinting and casting
  • Wound cleansing and dressing
  • IV stars or Saline lock
  • Data entry
  • Equipment stocking
Education and certifications required:
  • Successful completion of EMT, LPN or CNA certification/license
  • Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job listed above.
  • Maintain an active BLS certification
