Description:

Alliant Energy is looking for freelance editor and writer to help in creating quality, engaging content on a wide variety of topics, from news releases and web content to social media posts and advertisements that aligns with our style and brand. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in creating content that tells a story and engages the reader in a conversational and inviting manner. The editor/writer will work closely with members of the Communications and Marketing team. This position requires a reliable internet connection, email and Microsoft Office tools including Word and Adobe Acrobat XI. This position must be able to meet deadlines, perform basic research and be proficient with the Associated Press Style. Writer Requirements and Responsibilities: * Generate grammatically sound, engaging content that follows provided specifications and guidelines (including keyword usage and density) *Perform basic internet research on assigned topics and write articles that provide practical and educational value to the reader * Be able to work seamlessly with members of the Communications and Marketing team, including submitting any requested revisions or changes in a timely manner
