In this position as Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment in the specific area of work in a safe and sufficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to read and interpret P&ID drawings, flow diagrams, parts lists, written instructions, standards, schematics, and instruction manuals.
  • Able to make mathematical computations for measurements and various maintenance issues
  • Able to operate hand-held test equipment for troubleshooting, calibrating and repairing equipment and instrumentation
  • Must be able to make good decisions and react quickly in very critical situations
  • Able to consistently develop and implement changes that reduce cost, improve quality, or improve safety
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, dismantle, inspect, assemble, adjust, check out, repair, and test a wide variety of mechanical components parts for equipment such as conveyers, grinders, centrifuges, augers, various valves and pumps, compressors, boiler, and gearboxes.
  • Use of variety of hand and power tools
  • Use of meters, conduit bender, megger, etc
  • Know use and function of different electrical components (fuses, relays, contactors, switches, etc.)
  • Use of basic and advanced mechanical theories and concepts
  • Must possess physical strength and dexterity to effectively use had tool, power tools, test equipment, press, end mill. Effectively use tools and equipment of the trade such as machine tools, hammer, wrenches, hydraulic tools, drills, grinders, impacts, pry bars, chain fails, come-along, jacks dollies, saws.
  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, noise, fumes and dust.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, utilize and enhance maintenance knowledge through problem solving to make continual equipment improvements
  • Must have computer knowledge to use SAP, Falcon, Microsoft Office, network drives to look up inventory, complete WO’s, look up manuals, and technical data needed for jobs
  • Must understand and be able to use all of the DAK Safety, Health and Environmental procedures.
  • Must be a team player assisting coworkers, giving and receiving constructive feedback and running the day-to-day business
  • Effective use of the safety processes ad DAK-RI including, but not limited to, management of change, lock tag clear try, confined space entry.
  • Complete all EKP’s in a timely manner
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work area and shops
  • Routine patrols on boiler, conveyors, and critical equipment to discover issues
  • Should display accountability, take responsibility for your actions
  • Understand and follow the job expectations, attendance expectations, and performance expectations for the maintenance department.

Requirements:

  • Job skills, educational background, training requirements or training required:
  • Must be high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be able to read with comprehension and interpret job/division policies and procedures
  • Must be able to write legibly
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with others orally, in writing and electronically
