AllSTEM Connections is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to work onsite for our confidential client in Coushatta, Louisiana.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity at an industry-leading emission control solutions provider and activated carbon manufacturer.

Salary is up to $37/hour, depending on experience.

Work schedule is 4/10, either M-Th or Tue-Fri, shift starts at 6am, overtime and on- call work is required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician will be responsible for proper operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the plant's instrumentation and electrical equipment. Applies knowledge of electrical and instrumentation work methods, standards, techniques, and problem solving to achieve high plant availability, reliability, and work efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine, basic electrical maintenance on equipment such as motors and motor controls, conveyors, turbine generators, medium and low voltage switchgear, and electrical components such as relays, switches, and sensing devices.
  • Install, examine, replace and/or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Assist E&I Technician A and B with process instrumentation calibration and maintenance, control valve calibration and maintenance, variable speed drive maintenance, and programmable logic controller (PLC) logic troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for plant electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
  • Inspect electrical tools and equipment and verify they are in good condition and/or make arrangements to repair or replace defective ones.
  • Maintain 5S practices in each area of the facility.
  • Assist other team members as needed.
  • Complete all required company training as assigned.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow all environmental procedures for secondary containment, spills, etc.
  • Respond to call outs as scheduled and have the ability to work flexible schedule as needed.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to maintain and repair electrical / instrumentation process equipment, such as motors, motor controls, conveyors, variable speed drives maintain, PLCs maintain, switches, process instrumentation and logic circuits, control and alarm circuits.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • General knowledge of Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMs) and DCS is preferred.
  • A basic understanding of process instrumentation, transmitters (smart & otherwise), PLC's, Drives, and electronic equipment is required.
  • Ability to recognize or identify basic tools and their common uses, and for the ability to accurately read a multimeter
  • Basic knowledge of a control loop
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret written material and instructions.
  • Basic understanding of weights, volumes, flow rates, percentage, yield and ratios related to solids and gases and the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret written material and instructions
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to solve problems using logical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with computers and their programs.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 or more years’ related heavy industrial electrical and instrumentation technician experience, or equivalent 2 year continuing education certification.

Pay: Up to $38.00 per hour
