Electrical Maintenance Technician

BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE:
Responsible for maintaining all production equipment and associated hardware (electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical) in a safe and efficient manner with the best possible quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze technical requirements to utilize electronic equipment, and performs installation and maintenance duties.
- Replace or repair defective components, using hand tools and technical documents.
- Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
- Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
- Must be able to work with other team members, engineers and supervisors within Thompson and customer organization to improve quality and process efficiency.
- Must be able to perform responsibilities by following all Health, Safety and Environment guidelines as set forth by Thompson and our customer.
- Knowledge and understanding of production processes, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completed Industrial Electrical Technicians Course at a technical or trade school with at least 3 year of experience in the field.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor.
- Utilize basic math and calculator, read tape measurer and understand operation and usage of volt meter/multimeter.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
- Candidate may be required to pass Criminal background based on job location/requirements.
