Job description

Registered apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce; and individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and a portable nationally recognized credential.

The Vermont Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program for Electrical and Plumbing assists in setting up structured, yet flexible training programs designed to meet the specific needs of Vermont employers through on-the-job learning and related instruction. Apprentices are required to complete 144 hours of classroom instruction for each year of their apprenticeship. Traditional classroom instructors are compensated for 144 hours of instruction and 24 hours of prep; Distance Learning instructors are compensated for 144 hours of instruction and 48 hours of prep. Hourly pay rate is based upon years of instruction within the program.
