The LOG Compliance Administrator will be required to monitor and manage exceptions within the PeopleNet, Lytx and Speed Gauge applications. Some of these exceptions will include daily and weekly reports that are created for monitoring excessive speed, HOS violations, missing logs, missing mvmr’s, missing miles from driver logs. This role will also be responsible for tracking all corrective actions that develop from these reports. They may need to create or edit logs and access historical log data to ensure compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service 395 Regulations. This position also requires training of terminal personnel and drivers as needed, driver training is tracked by a training certificate which is signed by the driver and TM, this position is responsible for viewing and maintaining these forms. Maintaining accuracy of active drivers in the PeopleNet application. Will also be required to attend conference calls when needed.
Essential Functions:

  • Review logs that exceed SOP performance requirements and
  • Implement corrective actions
  • Maintain weekly summary reports based on tracking of all compliance events for further review by the appropriate safety manager
  • Work with drivers and terminals to ensure compliance with HOS regulations by reviewing logs and data.
  • Will need to edit or create logs from GPS or Paper due to system or equipment failures
  • Reviewing roadside inspection violations and citations
  • Payment of citations if applicable
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum education/experience necessary to perform the job*:

  • High School Diploma/ 4 yr College Degree Preferred
  • 3-5 years in transportation and or logistics industry, preferably in a safety or operations role
  • Knowledge of roadside inspections for violations found and citations
  • Must have thorough knowledge of DOT hours of service regulations and be able to understand the violations that may occur from using electronic logging system.
  • Incumbent must be able to analyze data and develop meaningful reports that identify trends that are immediate concerns as well as long term process improvement opportunities.

Minimum special knowledge and skills required*:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include heavy usage of Access and Excel to analyze data using pivot tables
  • Communication and Presentation Skills
