The Arc Erie County New York has been supporting children and adults with disabilities, and their families in achieving their desired quality of life by creating opportunities through comprehensive services for over 65 years.
Our Position: We are currently seeking an
Employment Specialist who will assist individuals with developmental challenges with their career development goals and employment options.
- Work with individuals in researching career options and locating employment opportunities in their area of interest.
- Provide job coaching supports to individuals once placed into employment.
- Assist individuals with retaining employment by providing onsite support.
- Completes documentation of services and tracks information in our electronic health records database.
- Acts as a liaison between an individual, their support team, their employer, and The Arc Erie County.
Our Rate of Pay: $18.50/hour (40 hours per week; flexible schedule), plus mileage reimbursement at the federal rate.

Our Requirements:
Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration or a closely related field
OR
High school or equivalent diploma PLUS two years full-time paid direct service experience with persons with developmental disabilities. Prior vocational or pre-vocational experience preferred but not required

PLUS:
A valid New York State Driver’s License; approved driving record and reliable transportation. Will be required to use personal vehicle to travel to worksites throughout the WNY area. Must be flexible in schedule to accommodate a variety of work placements. Computer knowledge is required as extensive documentation is completed.
