The EI Group (EI) is a full-service consulting firm, providing environmental engineering, occupational safety and health management and training services to a broad base of private sector clients for the past 30 years. EI employs approximately 100 scientists, engineers and occupational health care professionals and is headquartered in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, with branch offices strategically located in Charlotte, North Carolina; Richmond and Roanoke, Virginia; Greenville, South Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia and Louisville, Kentucky.
EI is seeking full-time, Environmental Scientists/Geologists for the Orlando/Tampa, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina areas. The position will provide project support for environmental projects and will be include assistance with client deliverables and field investigations. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Perform project tasks in accordance with environmental and other applicable rules and regulations as well as with approved project plans.
- Collect field data, observe, document field work, as directed.
- Use field equipment properly and in accordance with equipment specifications
- Assist with preparing technical reports, permit applications, correspondence, and plans. Activities include drafting text, preparing figures, and document reproduction.
Position Requirements:
- Candidates MUST have a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Candidate MUST have an undergraduate level degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Planning, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in Phase II ESAs and asbestos surveys also required.
- Valid Driver's License
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of basic scientific principles.
- Basic knowledge of the operation of computers, printers, and other office equipment.
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently, as well as, in a team environment and a positive professional attitude.
- Detail-oriented, working effectively in an office and field environment, and working with deadlines.
- Excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills.
