Office manager for equine ambulatory veterinary practice needed to assist practice owner with critical managerial duties.

The practice currently employs three full time veterinarians and four support team members. Veterinary care of our equine patients is performed in a completely ambulatory setting, but manager would primarily operate out of our central office location.

Specific job responsibilities will include independent management or shared responsibility (with practice owner and other support team members) in the following tasks- accounts billable, accounts payable, vendor account management, inventory oversight, human resources development, human resources oversight, facility, software, and marketing oversight.

As compared to small animal medicine, there are some benefits and also some special challenges associated with managing this type of veterinary practice. A few of the positive aspects are that our clients are wonderful and are very appreciative (we rarely get complaints!) and there is not a large facility that has to be overseen. Some of the unique challenges include trying to effectively manage personnel and inventory that are not physically present at the office location for most of the workday, and trying to efficiently schedule appointments/workflow to maximize billable time.

As a management position, this is a salaried position. Benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings, membership in professional association(s), and continuing education expenses are available.

Candidates must be familiar with the equine industry, have held employment in veterinary medicine, and have managerial experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
