Description:This position will be based out of Shaw AFB, SC. This position required military base access. There may be some domestic and international travel. Must be able to obtain and maintain passport for international travel and access to military installations.

This position will support the F-16 modification, upgrade, repair and overhaul at Shaw AFB.

10% annual completion bonus for all hours worked during modification effort.

Services, repairs, and overhauls F-16 aircraft avionics & electrical systems to ensure airworthiness. Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft avionics/electrical system and components. Incorporate engineering changes. Replaces and repairs worn or damaged components. Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories. Performs operational checks, pre & post modification/upgrade/overhaul testing, troubleshoots and repairs electrical and avionics systems on aircraft as required.

Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of electrical/avionics circuits and components. Uses complex test instruments and computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices, may provide technical guidance.

Selected candidate will have experience with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft. Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes. Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.

Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

  • Candidate must have held a USAF skill level 7 (or equivalent) in their career field.

  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of comprehensive aviation experience on the F-16
Desired Skills:
  • Fighter experience such as F-22, F-35, F-15, F-18, etc.

  • Microsoft Office Suite skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
