Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Field Health and Safety Specialist to be based in the Questa, New Mexico area. The FHS Specialist will support a long-term mining construction project, supporting the Arcadis Construction Services (ACS) group. This position is designed for an individual with 2-4 years of experience in the construction, environmental, remediation, or safety field and is familiar with heavy equipment operation and large-scale remedial/construction activity. This positions will require to be local to the project site.

Role accountabilities:

• Full time assignment involving periods of (~25%) travel to complete a variety of health and safety related assignments in support of another Arcadis project located in Questa, NM. Oversight of field crews during the performance of environmental investigations, remediation, and construction activities in accordance with OSHA, client and Arcadis policies and procedures
• Preparation of health and safety plans and other documentation. Use, calibrate and maintain various field safety instrumentation
• Participation in or leading daily health and safety meetings.
• Perform worker and task observations to identify questionable behaviors. Work with team to develop appropriate solutions to mitigate site hazards

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

• 6 years experience in Health and Safety Field
• Degree in H&S related field or equivalent years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 hr OSHA Construction or 30 hr OSHA Construction
• Experience in Heavy Construction Health and Safety.
• Hazwoper 40-Hour Training (preferred)
