What You Will Do:
In this role, you will be an integral member of the financial reporting team and assist with accounting and reporting for stock-based compensation for all employee and nonemployee plans. You will assist in the day-to-day administration of our employee equity programs and in continuing to scale our equity compensation plans as the company grows. You will also support the month-end close, quarterly and annual SEC reporting, and internal analysis and reporting processes. This includes working with internal audit, external auditors and becoming responsible for internal controls throughout the process.
The individual will work closely with various parties including employees, real estate agents/brokers, stock plan services, HR, legal, transfer agent, and internal and external auditors. This position requires cross-functional communication and will work independently with support from the Equity, stock and other accounting teams.
The person chosen for this role will grow with eXp, assuming new roles and responsibilities in response to individual aptitude and business needs.
How You Will Make An Impact:
- Responsible for initial determination of the fair value and expense of stock-based compensation for all equity plans across all legal entities
- Assist with review of stock option and other award grants, forfeitures, and exercises and releases on a timely basis for all employees and nonemployees (agents/brokers)
- Prepare monthly stock-based compensation entries and reconciliations
- Assist in the quarterly financial reporting duties, including preparing the support file and detail for various financial statements and footnote disclosures. As well as providing audit support and
- answering questions.
- Assist with equity plan management and monitoring
- Support the technical accounting aspects of stock-based compensation
- Provide supporting information for equity roll forward and footnote disclosures in Forms 10-Q/K
- Work closely with cross functional leaders of HR, Legal, FP&A, and other business partners
- Ensure that internal controls and procedures are followed to satisfy periodic review of compliance with SOX
- Assist in accounting and finance system implementation projects
How You Will Grab Our Attention:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in auditing, financial analysis/accounting
- Strong organizational skills, work ethic, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to details required
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of US GAAP a plus, particularly ASC 718
- International experience a plus
- Understanding of SOX and internal controls a plus
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of materials and information
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines
