Job description
We are a Longterm Care Facility seeking a Food Service Director. Our facility is located in Valatie, NY, 20 minutes outside of Albany, in Columbia County. This is a full-time position.
Food Service Director Responsibilities:
- Plan for food servicethrough discussion with other department directors.
- Must be knowledgeable of food services practices & procedures per the Department of Health
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement the programs & goals of the Food Service Department.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies & equipment
- Ensire the maintainance of the appearance of food service areas; perform regular inspections for sanitation, order, and team performance
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Requirements:
- Any degree in Food Services or equivalent supervision experience
- Experience in a Long-Term Care facility
- Must have extensive knowledge of food management, menu planning, and dietary therapy
- Must have knowledge of food purchasing and inventory control
- Must possess leadership and teamwork skills
