The mission of Restaurant Operations is to provide a quality dining experience at an affordable price that enhances campus life and supports the overall mission of the University. It is the responsibility of Restaurant Operations to operate in a fiscally responsible manner, contribute fair-share support to the University, and sustain adequate reserves for future growth.
Job Summary
Under the direction of a Food Service Manager, the Food Service Supervisor is directly responsible for managing the daily operations of multiple units, units as assigned. Units have their own full-time Food Service Assistants, and are operated mostly by part-time student staff. All FT and PT staff report directly to the Food Service Supervisor. Responsibilities include operating the units’ standards, staff hiring, scheduling, supervision of training, inventory control, product quality, ordering, sanitation, and cash control. The Supervisor will be directly responsible for communicating with the franchise representatives on standard compliances, the public, special promotional programs, merchandising, and marketing.

Hours: The hours for this position are Tuesday-Friday 1-9:30pm; Saturday 11am-7:30pm
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory and/or lead work functions in a kitchen environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a large volume operation, such as catering, university or similar – gross sales in excess of 1 million
  • Basic Food Prep Experience
  • 3 or more years of working knowledge of automated inventory ordering systems such as Food Service Suite (FSS) and Event Management System (EMS) or similar
  • Two of more years of effective employee scheduling
  • Experience with staff training
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite
  • Two or more years experience with mentoring, counseling, and disciplining staff
  • Experience using POS to process payments
  • Knowledge of essential food service equipment
  • Certificate, or Technical Diploma or Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
  • ServSafe Food Handler or similar certification


Target Salary Range $22.00 - $24.00 per hour (Salary above the maximum is possible based upon level of experience and is subject to approval) Benefits and Total Rewards
