Job description
Free People began its journey in 1970, in a modest West Philadelphia storefront, offering plants and records, along with a few pieces of clothing. Though the name was changed to Urban Outfitters just a year later, Free People was revived as the company’s wholesale label in 1984. And it hasn’t looked back since.
The eclectic assortment quickly assembled behind it a fiercely loyal fan base, and this fueled the opening of FP’s first brick-and-mortar store in Paramus, NJ in 2002, along with the birth of freepeople.com in 2004, and the first mail-order catalog, which arrived in homes during the summer of 2005.
All the while, Free People has dedicated its energies to building a close-knit relationship with the FP community and continues to seek out new ways to foster and elevate this unique and meaningful bond.

Overview
The Experiential Marketing Manager will support end-to-end operations of FP Movement’s experiential marketing strategy. This candidate must be able to identify and connect with external fitness and wellness instructors, influencers, partners and internal stakeholders alike on the development, execution and evaluation of our experiential programming. FP Movement’s experiential strategy consists of ongoing in real life and virtual events to engage, retain and acquire new customers. Success in the role requires a strategic, analytical, collaborative, organized and creative mindset with expectational written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
Ideation of best-in-class fitness and wellness experiential programs that bring our brand to life and acquire / retain customers- Knowledge of relationships with national fitness studios and top tier fitness talent
- Lead and continue to scale instructor strategy, including building relationships with studios and individual fitness instructors
- Ability to find venues that are on brand and in reasonable proximity to stores
- Project management of all experiential programs from the development phase through execution and evaluation
- Constant communication of strategy, timelines, and support needs with store leadership, management and wider marketing team
- Monthly scheduling of events with instructors, influencers, vendors and internal execution teams
- Budget management of instructor and production fees as well as marketing hours required of freelance execution as well as store support teams
- Responsible for setting multifaceted events strategy with experiential and brand marketing directors, including balancing various KPIs, all within budget
- Assemble event and campaign recaps including collaboration with wide marketing and analytics team
- Own administrative duties including processing of invoices, vendor agreements, etc.
- Stay on top of competitor experiential and marketing programs and industry trends, research and pitch forward thinking programming that align with our store and brand roadmap
Qualifications
4-6 years of events experience at a relevant brand, media company or creative agency
- Passion for health and wellness, with knowledge of studios and instructors in the LA market
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and team environment with strong time management skills
- Experience evaluating and negotiating influencer contracts
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Travel and some night and weekend hours are a requirement of this position
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or similar discipline
