Position Summary:

The Nash Distribution Freight & Shipping Specialist is responsible for all inbound and outbound freight domestically and internationally. The Manager must have a proven ability to successfully manage and direct freight operations and develop and implement standard operating procedures across the entire Nash organization. The Freight & Shipping Specialist will also become the "SuperUser" on all external TMS (Transportation Management Systems) software programs associated with the day-to-day business. The Freight & Shipping Specialist must be willing to assist in training others within the organization. In this critical role, the Freight & Logistics Specialist will report directly to Nash’s Director of Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works directly with the Director of Operations to establish and implement tracking tools for freight.
  • Works to achieve best possible outcomes for complete and on-time delivery to customers, minimal days on hand, logistics and warehouse costs, inventory accuracy and shrinkage
  • Reviews and revises processes for inventory stocking levels, planning, scheduling and warehousing
  • Develops and implements a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements for the execution of inbound and outbound freight and revises strategies based on changing market conditions.
  • Works with the Nash Customer Service Department to ensure that all freight data is correctly entered into the Acumatica ERP system.
  • Conducts monthly meetings with Nash’s executive team to outline key freight metrics.
  • Maintains communication with internal colleagues, customers and carriers
  • Upholds & contributes to our positive work environment where safety, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction are top priorities

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree preferred in operations management, supply chain management or equivalent work experience.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • A high degree of reasoning and mathematical ability
  • Ability to write simple correspondence, both written and electronic
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization

Reasoning Ability:

  • Strong decision-maker
  • Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
