The Cindy Platt Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County in Brevard, NC is hiring a part-time front desk assistant. As the largest youth development organization in the county, pre-COVID, the Club served nearly 700 school aged children, 5 – 18 each year. Founded in 1999, the Club is committed to enabling all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Our Club is affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a nationwide movement of community-based, autonomous organizations, working to help youth of all backgrounds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. We offer daily access to a broad range of programs that promote academic success, cultivate healthy lifestyles, and nurture good character and citizenship.
The Club is seeking a friendly and organized individual to serve as our organization’s Front Desk Assistant. The Front Desk Assistant will spend their afternoons managing the Club’s front desk and working through a checklist of administrative duties that enables our organization to best serve the youth that attend during that time. The front desk assistant reports directly to the Membership Director and Assistant Executive Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Answering incoming calls and fielding questions from parents and community members,
- Preparing daily reports and Club rosters,
- Accurately clocking members in and out to allow for precise reporting on daily attendance,
- Assisting with Club registration by preparing registration documents and communication, along with collecting forms and payments,
- Overseeing Club inventory and ordering all office supplies in addition to some program supplies.
Qualifications include:
- High School diploma required with some college experience or a combination of experience.
- Minimum of one-year experience providing customer service and managing a front desk, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.
- Valid State Driver’s License

- Other responsibilities as determined by Membership Director or Assistant Executive Director.
Working Conditions - Must be available to work Monday-Thursday, 1:30pm-6:30pm during the school year.
Physical Requirements - Must have the ability to be active and on your feet (or sitting) for a minimum of four hours each day and complete other essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned.
Salary - $11.00 - $17.00/hour (pay is based on education and experience)*
