ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
As a Senior Frontend Developer in the Design Systems team, you will play an important role in developing a Design System that will be used in 6 (and counting) globally recognized brands, many of which have very high trafficked sites. Therefore, you will have a huge impact on the productivity of multiple international engineering teams, as well as the experience of millions of users worldwide.
You will work closely with a strong frontend development team, as well as our partners in product, design, QA, and backend engineering. Occasionally, you will work with the product development teams to offer mentorship and support as they develop UI components for the Design System or as they encounter problems adopting the design system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop UI components and frontend libraries that are consumed by the Product Development teams.
- Develop CI/CD workflows to manage changes in Design System repository.
- Write automated integration and unit tests for UI components and libraries.
- Write documentation for UI components and libraries.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Product teams to create robust technical solutions for our UI problems.
- Participate in Scrum meetings and assist in defining the technical roadmap for the Design System.
- Ensure high standards of accessibility, performance, and code quality are met.
SUCCESSFUL SENIOR FRONTEND CANDIDATES HAVE:
- 6-8 years of experience working as frontend developer
- Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and web standards.
- 2-4 years of experience developing components using React.
- Experience with modular CSS technologies/methodologies such as BEM, CSS Modules, or CSS-in-JS.
- Experience and proficiency with common frontend build tools such as Webpack, Babel, Sass, PostCSS.
- Experience building UIs accessible to keyboard users and screen readers.
- Experience writing tests using Jest, Cypress and/or Testing Library.
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
- Expertise with Git and version control tools.
- Experience debugging and addressing Core Web Vitals performance issues.
- Experience with internalization and localization.
- Experience applying SEO practices.
- Experience authoring libraries.
- Fluency in English language.
- Experience with Storybook, Next.js, and Typescript is a plus.
