POSITION SUMMARY

This Full-time sales role builds the foundation for mastering product knowledge, services, and sales techniques necessary to sell products and consultative solutions to funeral home customers. Develop strong internal relationships and understanding of critical departments within Matthews Memorialization necessary to be successful in outside sales. Training involves many different methods from in-class, independent learning, to hands-on. Willingness to relocate and assume an established or new outside sales territory within 6 – 12 months from start date.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successfully participate in and complete the prescribed MAFS Sales Culture Program.
  • Participate in the Funeral Home Immersion program.
  • Intensive product knowledge program participation.
  • Works with Customer Service and Distribution teams to understand their role.
  • Masters merchandising system solutions and options.
  • Fully understands and utilizes the Solution Center, Advisor and Procura technology.
  • Masters the Compass program and data entry associated with customer analysis.
  • Enters customer requests and sales activity into Salesforce.com.
  • Assist Marketing Team on specific projects, when needed.
  • Understand and can articulate the value of the P3 program.
  • Understands expectations involved with traveling assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers, pursue orders, and engage with customers by phone, successfully.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and maintains expense accounts associated with travel.
  • Learns techniques to investigates and resolve customer problems.
  • Participates in customer visits and state trade shows when appropriate.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Finance, Marketing, or related field
  • Occasional travel either locally or nationally may be required.
  • Temporary relocation to participate in trainee program.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong math, analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion) & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
