Job Overview:

A Fortune 500 company in Houston, TX is looking for a GIS Specialist to function as a part of an IT support team and provide technical assistance to key business users and IT peers, support and administer GIS related software applications, deliver coded solutions for enhancements and new functionality as well as provide technical application and project support. The individual will have direct support responsibility for a subset of business users, including troubleshooting, analysis and problem resolution, solution design, participation in on-call rotation, as well as accountability for delivery of technical designs, technical development, testing, and implementation support. He/she will support existing GIS application(s) by troubleshooting issues, analyzing possible cause, defining solutions, and working through defined change control processes to enable quick resolution, as well as work directly with end users and GIS analysts to understand new/changing business requirements and functional enhancements as requested. This person will also assist architects with technical specifications and develop solutions in support of business requirements, in addition to assisting in coordinating end user support by timely acknowledgement and logging of reported impediments and completion of initial bug triage and assessments. They will also be required to prepare and present status updates for current work tasks, share any blocking items, and provide accurate estimates for work efforts and completion dates. Must be willing to work onsite 5 days/week.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in Information Technology specific to GIS application development and GIS application software support

Experienced in the following technologies: ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, GeoServer, SQL database, Visual Studio, and Microsoft SSRS with strong project and business analyst skills

Experienced in database design, table creation, development of stored procedures, and referential integrity

Ability to develop, support and tune multiple system interfaces

Experience working directly with software vendors to deliver high value system projects

Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, or 5 years of related industry experience or equivalent technical experience

Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills and able to work with end users effectively

Willing to work onsite 5 days/week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
