DARS a 2022 ATD Best Winner in Talent Development is seeking a Grants Financial Reporting Specialist.
The Division of Fiscal Services supports the Agency mission through the provision of quality financial management, administrative support, procurement, and facilities management services. All financial support services are delivered with the goal of maximizing the funds entrusted to the Disability Service Agencies by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This position will oversee the DSA federal grants management. Prepare various grants financial reports, monthly reconciliation of revenue and expenditures, year-end CAFR statements and RSA-2. Serve as the backup to the Senior Grants Accountant for preparing the daily federal drawdown request. Assist with Medicaid Cost Allocation. Review and prepare pass-through billings for accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of federal grants management requirements and generally accepted accounting principles and practices for governmental entities and state fiscal functions and operations; and of automated financial systems such as Cardinal.
Experience working with state accounting systems to include Cardinal; and preparing state and federal financial reports.
Demonstrate ability to download financial reports from financial systems; to assemble, analyze, prepare and explain financial reports and statements covering complex financial data.

Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of Excel and Word.
Knowledge of state government and state government accounting policies and procedures.

Ability to work independently as well as with other team members; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Graduation from a college or university with major studies in accounting or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in grants management.
BS in Accounting.
Special Requirements
