As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will lead the facilitation and instruction of all gymnastics programs. You will create a safe and positive environment that promotes safety and engagement for all in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. This position reports to the Program Director. This is a part-time role based out of Southwest Austin YMCA.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

What are the details?

• You render first aid as needed and complete the required paperwork for incidents and accidents.
• You set up and take-down gymnastics equipment as needed for classes.
• You ensure that the gym is not left unattended with the equipment set-up.
• You conduct warm-up as assigned by the supervisor.
• You teach age-appropriate skills as outlined in the curriculum.
• You monitor the appropriate placement of gymnasts within classes and conduct evaluations of students and/or potential students.
• You communicate with the parents of students as needed.
• You maintain necessary records to track attendance in classes.
• You maintain and champion a safe environment in the gym at all times.
• You actively contribute to the Branch and Association objectives and directions through effective completion of tasks and verbal display to peers, staff, members, and guests.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the Purpose:

• Education and Experience: You are a minimum of 16 years old and have a gymnastics or cheer tumbling background. Instructor experience preferred. You have current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
