Overview:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. Qualifications:
A Hanger Fabricator is required to interpret construction drawings/blueprints with basic mathematic ability to fabricate different components for the manufacturing of Submarines.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Layout & fabrication of hangers,foundations and components
- Measuring, marking and fitting parts according to engineering drawings
- Will need to develop a working knowledge of weld symbols, burning, metal cutting tools and grinding operations
- Will be required to align parts in relation to each other utilizing a variety of metal fabrication tools, blueprints and templates
- Tack-weld parts as required
- Must be able to read and interpret written policies, procedures and guidelines as work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures
- Must be able to work productively while maintaining Safety, Cost, Schedule and Quality.

Required:
- Willingness to learn a new trade
- Must be available to work all shifts
- Must possess basic mathematical skills
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
- Must be able to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
Preferred:
- Work experience related to shipfitting/metal fabrication or carpentry experience or training
- High school diploma/GED; additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
- Military/Navy experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative team environment and meet organizational goals
- Working in a fast paced manufacturing shop environment
