Head Lifeguard/Pool Manager

Sea Cliff Yacht Club is seeking a qualified, experience person.

About the Club

The Sea Cliff Yacht Club, Ltd. was founded in 1892 to “encourage its members to become proficient in navigation, in the personal management, control and handling of their boats, in all aquatic sports, and in the furtherance of social interaction”.

Duties will include:

• · Scheduling and supervision of lifeguards at private club swimming pool.
• · Operates and maintains filters and pumps used to purify and filter pool water as per Nassau County Board of health requirements.
• · Inspect swimming pool facilities to insure a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• · Ensures that lifesaving and first-aid equipment are available, replenished and in operating condition.
• · Enforces rules and regulations governing use of swimming pool.
• · Maintain a professional yet friendly environment.
• · Schedule regular lifesaving drills with lifeguards and evaluate performance.
• · Preform additional duties as prescribed by General Manager and Pool Committee Chair.

Candidates should be:

• · Proficient at swimming pool safety regulations.
• · Knowledge of swimming pool management;
• · Understanding of the operational and maintenance requirements of swimming pool facilities and equipment.
• · Ability to supervise Lifeguards and maintain a professional club atmosphere.
• · Ability to prevent dangerous situations from happening, to recognize emergencies, and to take effective immediate action.
• · Ability to establish and maintain effective relations with club members and their children.
• · Ability to maintain efficient records.
• · Physical fit to handle the demands of the position.
• · Preferred Candidates 2 years’ experience in pool facility management.
• · Must be American Red cross and Nassau County certified as a pool and clam water lifeguard
• · CPR and AED certified.
• · Advance First Aid certified (preferred)

This is a full time seasonal position

Wednesday to Sunday 12 pm to 8pm plus Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day

Must be available through the end of September.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

• Sea Cliff, NY 11579: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Lifeguard: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Required)
