About the role:
Join a Global Geohazard Mitigation contractor working throughout the Western US, as a key member of a high-performing construction and maintenance team. As a Mechanic you will support our field teams maintaining and servicing rock drills, excavators, compressors, trucks and other heavy equipment. Shop management and maintenance will be a key role, including small tool procurement and general housekeeping. Geovert has a range of rock drilling equipment, excavators, and compressors. We will support you with specific equipment and CDL training if needed.
Your key responsibilities:
- Diesel engine repairs, preventive maintenance, and servicing
- Ensure appropriate parts are identified and ordered for service and repairs
- Maintain up-to-date service records for all work carried out
- Minimise downtime of equipment through quality service and repair work
- Champion safety every day so that everyone goes home safe and well
- Vehicle and trailer maintenance, PM service, small repairs, and DOT compliance
- Light fabrication and welding
- Workshop management

- Heavy equipment mechanics and fabrication experience and ideally rock drill rigs and excavators
- Valid Driver’s License, Class A commercial driver’s license or able to obtain after hiring
- Experience with hydraulic equipment and ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Ideally experience with rigging and rope access equipment inspection
- Detail and technically oriented individual
- Whiling to travel to project sites (65%) and work in outdoor settings under varying weather conditions
