Job description
We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operator(s) to join our field crew in Southern California. Qualified individuals can also apply at our Corporate Office located at 4181 Latham St, Riverside, CA 92501.
Position Summary:
Responsible for operating various equipment including excavator, backhoe, dozer, scraper, and motor grader in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA safe practices.
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Safely operate off-highway equipment to transport raw materials and/or finished products throughout the jobsite in a safe and efficient manner
- Operating the equipment for grading, heavy construction, demolition, and other job-related duties assigned
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately completing daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation
- Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels and adding correct fluids as necessary and assisting in performing other minor maintenance
- Monitor the jobsite operations and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety
- Follow direction of the Foreman or Superintendent with regards to daily production schedule and activities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Must have 2+ years of experience as heavy equipment operator on construction sites
- Grade checking & utilities experience is a plus
- Knowledge of equipment and ability to operate or drive vehicles (i.e. dump truck, heavy equipment etc.)
- Walk/Stand/Kneeling/Bending for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation, as you will need to drive your vehicle
- Required to have a valid Driver’s License
- Required to pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check
