Reporting to: Mine Shift Supervisor/Mine Operations Superintendent

DESCRIPTION:

Operate heavy, motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner

• Dozers
• Loaders
• Backhoes
• Blades
• Trackhoes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the functions listed below:

• Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations, including, but not limited to dozers, loaders, backhoes, blades, trackhoes, and other equipment to support a variety of operations at Lisbon Valley Mining Company.
• Gather and load dirt and waste products from specific areas onto trucks. Transport to the appropriate location.
• Operate water truck and similar equipment for dust control and dirt compaction.
• Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
• Maintain accurate logs and records.
• Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.

• Properly perform pre-shift inspection of equipment and report any discovered faults or damages (i.e., tire inspections, lights, fluid levels, etc.).
• Complete and maintain all associated paperwork including pre-shift inspection sheets, timecards with proper load counts, etc.
• Demonstrate safe and proper operation of the equipment under all working conditions for maneuvering in loading & dumping areas, smooth transitioning with the loader including blind side transitioning, maintaining proper speeds for working conditions through the use of the retarder and proper gear selection.
• Maintain the ability to recognize hazards and avoid or correct as appropriate.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Will be expected to know and practice applicable safety and environmental regulations for federal, state, local, and company areas.
• Will be expected to possess a valid driver’s license.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• All employees will be expected to perform manual labor on an as-needed basis.
• Shall comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.

WORK CRITERIA/CONDITIONS:

• Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities such as: heavy lifting and climbing; operating motorized equipment and vehicles; work in confined spaces; work at heights; work around heavy construction/mining equipment.
• Must be able to sit and drive a truck for long periods of time.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist, climb while carrying up to 50 pounds for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Will be exposed to sulphuric acid, fumes, dust, diesel, gas, oil, solvents, and other hazardous materials.
• Must be able to work extended hours, overtime and be available for on-call status.
• Operates on a 7 days on 7 days off schedule. 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
