What We Offer*
This position is a Pay per visit compensation model.
Pay per visit ranges from $80 - $100 / depending on type of visit.

What We Are Looking For*

Lorian Health is currently looking for a Per Diem Registered Dietitian to provide care to our patients in Santa Clara County.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

  • Licensed as a Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association and certified to practice in the state of practice.
  • The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) requires that students complete a college/university educational program in dietetics and/or nutrition that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).Preferably at least one (1) year of experience as a RD. Additional Qualifications
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification (BLS required).
  • Maintains RD status including continuing professional education.
  • Ability to verbally communicate in the language of the client and document all client related activity practices.
  • Is knowledgeable of nutritional theories and principles; diet therapy techniques; safety and health regulations governing patient care; medical terminology; patient rights.
  • Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patients/clients condition and care given in accordance with LORIAN policies and procedures.
  • Participates in in-service education programs and clinical meetings.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control polices and protocols.
  • Maintains confidential patient records in accordance with privacy and security standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable state laws. Physical Requirements
  • Is able to present a pre-employment physical which states they are free from health conditions which would interfere with the employee’s ability to perform assigned duties, is free from signs or symptoms of infectious disease and is signed by the person who performed the assessment. A similar physical is required annually thereafter.
  • Is able to pass a pre-employment Protein Purified Derivative (PPD) tuberculin skin test and annually thereafter. If unable to pass PPD testing or have history of positive PPD testing, a Chest X-ray will be required of a new employee and every five (5) year thereafter.
  • Subject to driving, sitting, standing frequently.

Job Summary
The Registered Dietitian (RD) advises and counsels others on food and nutrition. They may explain nutrition issues to clients, assess the dietary and health needs of clients, develop meal plans for clients, gauge the effects of these meal plans, and promote nutrition.

  • Responsibilities*
  • Provides nutritional consultation integrated with the patient’s medical needs and goals.
  • Evaluates, interprets, monitors, and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of LORIAN patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
  • Identifies and provides age specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of patients.
  • Makes recommendations to the physician on patient diet orders, supplements, enteral/parenteral nutrition, and laboratory data per LORIAN policy.

· Coordinates patient food service needs with case manager and home health aide. · Counsels patients and/or caregivers on therapeutic diets (e.g. but not limited to no concentrated sweets, low sodium, diet after Ostomy, high protein/calorie)

  • Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patients/clients condition and care given in accordance with LORIAN policies and procedures
