JOB TITLE: Maintenance/Security

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering/Night Manager

Purpose for the Position: To maintain the Hotel areas and all Hotel assets to an acceptable quality standard.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Provides professional and courteous service at all times.

2. Assists Chief Engineer with all maintenance and preventative maintenance to include: Painting/Wallpapering, Plumbing, knowledge of Saflok, refrigeration, heating, A/C units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, switch rooms, roof exhausts, etc.

3. Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time.

4. Understands and practices all lock out-tag out procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.

5. Perform all guestroom and public area preventive maintenance services as outlined for your hotel.

6. Performs maintenance checks of equipment and logs properly.

7. Reports all safety and security concerns to the Chief Engineer or the Manager on Duty immediately.

8. Ensures all key inventories are secure.

9. Responds to all emergency situations prepared to assist.

10. Participates in ongoing maintenance programs for event space, public space, kitchens and all convention center equipment.

11. Maintains cleanliness of grounds and attractiveness of landscaping.

12. Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of all work space and storage areas.

13. Effectively monitor and protect hotel assets.

14. Assist in emergency procedures.

15. Follow proper patrol procedures and ensure proper documentation of property patrols.

16. Understand hotel’s cash handling procedures and report any procedure violations to the General Manager and appropriate management.

17. Follow proper investigative procedures for loss of hotel assets and ensure compliance with policies.

8. Effectively monitor and control access to public area, storage areas, associate areas, and locker rooms.

19. Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.

20. Log activities and events occurring on shift.

21. Complete projects as determined by Management.

Physical Demands: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.

Environmental Conditions: Both: Inside and outside: A job is considered “both” if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts approximately 75% or more of the time inside.

Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: Compute ratio and proportion and percentages. Calculate surface, volumes, weight and measures.

Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read instructions, safety rules, etc. Speak with poise, voice control and confidence using correct English and well- modulated voice.
