We are a management company that operates 18+ Arco AM/PM sites throughout the Bay Area, with farthest north being Vacaville and farthest south in King City. Our main office is located in Walnut Creek, and this position will be full-time, in person at this office.

We are looking for a part-time HR Generalist to help our current HR staff in managing employee relations for our sites and the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue progressive disciplinary letters and write-ups to employees in accordance with company policy
  • Be the dedicated generalist for your assigned sites and assisting managers with any initial inquiries to the best of your ability
  • Update any employee changes with the payroll system, assist with employee login troubleshooting
  • Reconcile medical enrollment and paycheck deductions, and send out enrollment options to new hires
  • Coordinate site transfers with employee and manager; update payroll database with changes
  • Follow procedure to enact promotions as requested or demotions as deemed necessary. This includes creating offer letters and documentation of pay rate and location changes
  • Process terminations by gathering final worked hours, medical deductions, resignation or termination documents, and providing employee files to payroll for final check creation.
  • Review and summarize employee files when considering them for a promotion, raise, or further disciplinary action.
  • Keep employee files up to date and organized.
  • Fill out information requested by CA EDD in regard to unemployment eligibility.
  • Report wages as requested by outside entities, including housing offices, mortgage lenders, workers compensation, and state officials.
  • Field calls from employees and assist in answering or escalating the inquiry.
  • Participate in Company Development Initiatives
  • Answer all incoming emails and forward to appropriate office staff when necessary

Qualifications

  • Some previous experience in HR preferred
  • Proven ability to work well with employees at all levels and maintain a positive, healthy attitude
  • Capable of understanding larger programs and projects and able to break them down into manageable and achievable tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft and Google Suites, including excel
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
