Indeed Ad – HSE Coordinator Kansas City

Big Star Companies, and an industry leader in refined fuel and oilfield transportation, has an open position for an HSE Coordinator based in Kansas City and also serving KS/MO territories. Our HSE Coordinator works on the HSE team and is responsible for the health, safety and environmental oversight and training for Kansas and Missouri.

Duties include:

· Conducting New hire orientations.

· Leading bi-weekly safety training and tailgate meetings.

· Performing field safety audits and driver ride-a-long.

· Conduct post-accident and post-injury investigations; root cause analysis; and ensure proper completion of required documentation and reporting to the proper agencies.

· Leading Defensive Driver Training

· Monitor compliance with Hours of Service regulations, ELD usage, pre/post trip inspections and FMCSA

· Aid in maintaining a positive safety culture throughout the company.

· Travel as needed to support operations.

· Some duties are performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have working experience in a safety position. Transportation experience also a plus. You must be self-driven, enjoy working with people, have good communication skills and have held a position in transportation operations and/or safety. This position will require good oral and written communication skills, completing detailed incident reports and working with customers and the general public. Must be in good physical health and be able to lift at least 75lbs and maintain a clean driving record.

Also required are basic computer skills and the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Spreadsheets a plus. Safety is 24/7 so you must be available by email and/or phone to support all Big Star operations.
