Dakota’s headquarters are in Silver Spring, MD. We are actively recruiting for an experienced HR Generalist.
The HR Generalist is responsible for assisting with facilitation of all facets of human resource functions, e.g., employee relations, compensation, performance management, employee development, employee selection, and recruitment efforts.
Job Functions:
- Coordination and facilitation of the day-to-day HR functions, including employee records management, employment actions, recruitment and staffing initiatives, creation of offer letters, new hire orientation and onboarding coordination.
- Ensure market competitive and cost-effective compensation and benefits package for highly skilled IT, cyber security, scientific and technical work force, including analyzing wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
- Proactively manage employee retention and recruitment programs, ensuring staff are recruited within defined company objectives for time to fill and time to hire metrics.
- Oversee the analysis maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies.
- Administer legal requirements and government reporting regulation affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Includes Federal contractor required reporting, e.g., EEO-1, Affirmative Action Plan, VETS 4212.
- Responds to requests on HR related policies and procedures across the company
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Manages performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Coordinate professional development program for Dakota managers and staff, ensuring managers and staff are in compliance with required training for ethics, conflict of interest, performance review, safety, preventing workplace harassment, and security training.
- Coordinate immigration processes to sponsor H-1B visas and Permanent Residents.
- Participate in proposal development efforts to include data and salary gathering and labor category mapping.
- Coordinate closely with senior executives and other department leaders in the organization such as Accounting, Payroll, IT, Quality and Contracts.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated 5 years of HR Generalist experience executing functions in employee records management; compensation and benefits; performance management; employee relations, and recruitment in a professional services firm and federal contract setting.
- Documented experience in the areas of recruitment, transition, and retention.
- Familiarity with IT and cleared position staffing for Federal contracting required.
- Experience partnering with a small collaborative HR/Accounting team responsible for complete HR/Accounting functions
- Expert level of knowledge of Maryland state and federal laws including ADA, FMLA, Title VII, EO 11246, OSHA, and wage and hour laws and solid understanding of human resources policies and practices
- Ability to prioritize workload and handle large volume with consistency, accuracy, and high quality.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel.
- Strong commitment to customer service excellence and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of professionals.
