DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be responsible for determining eligibility for the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP), Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP), Duke Energy Progress and Central Electric Membership Corporation Assistance Programs. This position's responsibilities include interviewing clients, verifying required information, determining eligibility, and completing documents necessary to generate payments to the energy providers. This position will utilize the NC FAST system to perform case actions and be responsible for balancing program funding with the state system and county finance office. Worker must be able to accurately interpret, apply and explain policies to the clients.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERI ENCE: Graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering, and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or graduation from high school and one year of experience in an income maintenance program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preference given for experience in interpreting policy, communicating with people of varied social/economic/educational backgrounds, and tasks involving computations with a high degree of accuracy.
