SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for performing a full range of custodial duties related to the housekeeping / cleaning of assigned equipment and facilities - Light Maintenance duty upkeep - Will work alone in this role

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform various custodial duties to maintain a clean work environment: sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub floors, wash walls, clean production equipment
• Continuously keep factory floors swept and clear of debris and operate designated floor scrubber to assist with reducing grease levels and dirt build up.
• Maintains, organizes and cleans work area compliant with 5S Standards.

• Follows current and future (SOP'S) and 5S program to ensure quality and safety
• Gather and empty trash, cardboard, wood from pallets, etc.

• Notify production supervisor concerning the need for major repairs or additions to equipment, facilities, operating systems.
• Follow procedures for the proper application and use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Monitor and keep a running stock of cleaning supplies and requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Move materials, equipment, or supplies, either manually or with hand trucks as instructed
• Work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to organize and execute multiple tasks and priorities with little supervision
• Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
• Demonstrate positive attitude and good work ethic, stay busy, look ahead for work to be done and monitor work for correctness and quality
• Sit or Stand 8-12 hours while working
• Occasional lifting up to 25-50lbs.
• Handle sharp cutting tools/objects
• Communication, with ability to reason and analyze/problem solve
• Strenuous physical activity
• Wear safety glasses, steel toe shoes, or any other required PPE for 8+ hours
• Work in warm/hot, dusty environment, facility is not climate controlled

Qualifications: Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures

Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules

Custodial experience desired Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) preferred
