Summary:

A fulltime Instructor (MP) is sought for the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program at Baptist Health Sciences University (BHSU). The instructor's primary responsibilities are didactic classroom and laboratory instruction, planning, implementation, and assessment of the MLS curriculum, service on university committees, and other related tasks, as needed. The MLS faculty member sought will have academic training or professional experience in Microbiology, Blood Bank, and other MLS sub-specialties. Collegiate teaching experience is preferred. The candidate must have a master's degree (preferred) or willing to complete a master's degree as a condition of hire, be a graduate of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited MLS program, have at least 4 years of clinical MLS experience, possess ASCP board certification, and current, active and unencumbered MLS credentials from a national certification agency recognized by the Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board. The Instructor (MP) position is eligible for promotion in rank consideration at BHSU.

Responsibilities:

Didactic classroom and laboratory instruction, planning, implementation, and assessment of the MLS curriculum.

Service on university committees.

Other related tasks, as needed.

Education:

Master's degree preferred or willing to complete a master's degree as a condition of hire, and academic training or experience in Microbiology, Blood Bank, or other MLS sub-specialties.

Graduate of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited MLS program.

Experience:

4 years of clinical MLS experience, preferably in Microbiology and Blood Bank.

Collegiate teaching experience preferred.

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Possess ASCP board certification.

Possess active unencumbered MLS credentials from a national certification agency recognized by the Tennesse Medical Laboratory Board.
