Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center

Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC) is seeking a motivated, detail oriented and energetic Recruiter to support Emergency DVM and Staff recruitment for our Gilbert and Peoria locations. In this role, you will work to attract top emergency veterinary talent to our organization, and will be on the front-line representing AVECCC, ensuring we engage with the best and brightest emergency veterinarians, technicians and support staff. This position is a full-time, with occasional travel (5-10%), assuming travel is permitted/safe.


The work you’ll do:

  • Act as a liaison to promote AVECCC as an employer of choice within the Arizona veterinary community through virtual and in-person events, as well as strategic outreach through various social and email efforts
  • Collaborate with the hospital leadership and HR team to develop job advertisements for open positions
  • Attract candidates to open roles through sourcing strategies across diverse channels including, but not limited to, industry, university and virtual events, conferences, email marketing and job postings
  • Serve as a point of contact for candidates, hospital leadership and field leadership teams
  • Design and implement an internal employee referral incentive program
  • Support and partner with internal and external teams to develop marketing collateral for recruiting activities for campus, conference and virtual events including presentations, signage, promotional items, etc.
  • Conduct recruitment strategy meetings and presentation of qualified candidates to Hiring Managers, as well as check-ins during interview and offer process
  • Responsible for scheduling and conducting initial candidate interviews, candidate presentations, and acting as liaison throughout the interview process
  • Participate in the onboarding process of new employees by helping create a positive new hire experience
  • Participation in recurring recruiting meetings with hiring managers, divisional leaders, and team
  • Responsible for analyzing retention and turn-over rates for the purpose of forecasting hiring needs

Who you are:

  • Ideally, 3 years of veterinary experience in Specialty+ER, Veterinary Recruitment, and/or Human Healthcare Recruiting experience
  • Bachelor’ Degree, or Associate Degree if you are a Credentialed Technician
  • Natural curiosity and desire to research and explore new ways of doing things
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
  • Able to work efficiently and independently, willing to embrace change with a positive attitude, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and verbal/written communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to be flexible with your schedule to meet candidate and event needs, which can occasionally include night and weekend events, with the ability to travel 5-10%
  • Experience establishing key relationships to drive initiatives, ideally in social networking environments
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System and Sourcing Tools is preferred
