Job Description

The Invasive Cardiac Registered Radiological Technologist I is responsible for providing quality radiological procedure, treatments, and diagnostic evaluations on patients in all age groups from adolescent to geriatric, under the direction of the cardiologists. Is expected to abide by established hospital and department policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Must be able to proficiently perform in the scrub roll while operating the imaging suite. This will require working knowledge of cardiac and peripheral catheterization supplies and equipment. Working with the cardiologist or Endovascular MD. Hemodynamic monitoring will be required within the first 6 months.

Job Summary: The Invasive Cardiac Registered Radiological Technologist I is responsible for providing quality radiological procedure, treatments, and diagnostic evaluations on patients in all age groups from adolescent to geriatric, under the direction of the cardiologists. Is expected to abide by established hospital and department policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Must be able to proficiently perform in the scrub roll while operating the imaging suite. This will require working knowledge of cardiac and peripheral catheterization supplies and equipment. Working with the cardiologist or Endovascular MD. Hemodynamic monitoring will be required within the first 6 months. Exposure to complex intervention both cardiac and peripheral as well as Electrophysiology studies will be part of orientation and will be required to advance to next levels of job descriptions. This position will require extensive standing and exceptional hand / eye coordination as well as extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and surgical instrumentation. Person must be proficient in sterile technique and able to Don lead for radiation safety and wear for the duration of the procedure. Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the Hospital to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education: Must have the required education needed to be Registered Radiologic Technologist.

Experience: One (1) or more years experience is preferred. Must have at least one year experience in cardiac / peripheral catheterization as radiographer and scrub roles.

Licenses / Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and must maintain current certification. Must maintain current BLS certification and ALS certification.
