Job description
Fauquier County Attorney’s Office is seeking an Investigator. Ideal candidate will have some investigatory or enforcement experience or other knowledge of and experience with local zoning and/or building codes. Position is part time permanent, on an as needed basis up to 20 hours per week, starting pay $24.22 hr. Flexibility with work hours is required; night and weekend hours may be necessary for some investigations. Ability to work remotely is preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists with complex civil enforcement matters; inspects properties; maintains records; prepares reports
- Identifies non-compliance or infractions; researches violators and property history
- Assists with preparation for court cases; attends court sessions as potential witness and provides testimony
