Job Objectives and Job Summary:
At the direction of the IT Administrator, the IT Assistant performs technical assistance to support computer users, provision of training in computer skills / functions, troubleshooting, repair of computer software and hardware; and assists with the assessment of technology needs.
1. Provides technical assistance with technology-related questions, issues and problems.
2. Assists users with databases, spreadsheets, and/or other applications using available software.
3. Assists with determining technology-related training needs of staff and provides training.
4. Assesses hardware and software needs, setup and configure computers & peripherals.
5. Troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware problems.
6. Performs any other duties requested / approved by the Executive Director, or the IT Administrator that are consistent with the functions of this position and with the mission, goals, and priorities of SEVCA.
Qualifications:
1. AS degree and 1 year of experience; or relevant Computer and software courses and certificates and 3 years’ experience.
2. Competent, well-rounded knowledge of all aspects of personal computer systems, with emphasis on office software applications.
3. Ability to work in a variety of environments and SEVCA building locations independently, set priorities, and respond to needs in a timely manner.
4. Reliable transportation is required.
Part-time, not benefits-eligible; 20 hours/week @ $22/hour. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
