Job description
BMA is actively seeking an Information Technology Project Manager supporting a Department of the Army agency located in the National Capital Region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and manage Information Technology (IT) projects using Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies, including the creation of project management plans, risk & issues management plans, communications plans, scope management plans, and work breakdown structure.
- Propose project management solutions incorporating project management methodologies to achieve the required programmatic outcomes to support the DHS.
- Develop and/or employ tools and methods to track progress throughout the life cycle of IT Platform Management projects or initiatives.
- Apply IT project management technical knowledge to ensure project schedules and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established milestones.
- Provide feedback to stakeholders through appropriate reports and meetings, both formally and informally.
- Lead a technical team of 16 – 22 personnel to execute and document projects as they move through the project lifecycle.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 15 years of increasingly complex IT experience, including 7 years managing requirements, contracts, operations, and personnel, all in the DoD IT field.
- MA/MS Degree (BA/BS Degree and additional experience and/or military service may substitute for the MS/MA degree).
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/CLEARANCES:
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance with SCI access eligibility
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or received approved exemption status.
