Java Developer

We provide enterprise-class services and are striving to fill a specialty position, Java Developer, located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), Maryland.

SPECIFIC TO THE ONSITE WORK

Work on a highly skilled and diverse team supporting clients across multiple government agencies. Demonstrate troubleshooting skills, communicate well, foster collaboration and provide insight while contributing to the completion of full lifecycle software development.

• Reviews, writes and edits codes. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
• Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software design evaluation plans, test results and technical manuals.
• Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Works with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
• Applies full use and application of engineering methodologies related to area of engineering specialty.
• Think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.
• Displays knowledge of engineering concepts and skills and knowledge of their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• The work will involve radios and some crypto.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Due to the nature of government contracts, US Citizenship is required
• Bachelor's degree
• 3-6 years of software development experience
• Understanding of modern Java and the software development process
• Soft skills to include the ability to communicate respectfully to all levels of the team.
• A professional work ethic to include punctuality and adhere to performance levels set by the customer and the team.

· Demonstrated ability to apply, process design, redesign skills and problem solving.

• Possess the core Java skills of: Object-oriented programming (OOP), Design Pattern Ability, Abstract Classes and Serialization.
• Familiarity with Java build tools such as: Apache, Sonatype, Gradle, Bazel, Nexus, CMake.
• Know how to compose server-side applications using the technology of EE components such as Java Beans, Java Server Pages and Servlets.
• Experienced using Java testing tools such as TestNG and Selenium.

• Familiar with the big data platforms Spark and Hadoop.
• Experienced with machine learning and Java virtual machine. DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Chef, and Maven.
• Possess the experience and understanding of blockchain technology.
• Desire to continue to grow as a software engineer

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Experience with working on federal contracts in the DoD environment.
• DoD secret level clearance.

• Experience with radio and encrypton.

• Military training and experience.
• IAT compliance certification such as a SEC+ or other.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Indoors in normal office environment. May require extensive periods of sitting or standing. Frequent computer use at workstation for several hours at a time. Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
