Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $15+/hour, depending on experience

Hiring for the 2022-2023 season!Eldora Ski & Ride School is the Place to Learn!! Come work for one of the best resort employers in Colorado and participate in a true Learning Community. Ski & Ride School Pros provide unparalleled learning experiences for our Guests. We specialize in using Learning Based Terrain with shaped features in all our beginner learning zones. Preference is to staff our Programs, on weekends, and other peak holiday times.

Our Ski & Ride School Junior Instructors provide indoor and outdoor support for our Children's Programs and Youth Lessons. Daily equipment prep, supervising lunch, shuttling late children, riding chairlifts with classes, assisting children to the bathroom, boot fitting, escorting guests to their lesson meeting area, etc. are all examples of duties that a Junior Instructor can experience.

For those who are more experienced, you could be involved with instilling confidence in our young guests by teaching skiing or snowboarding. Periodically working with classes throughout the season and ensuring the best possible experience for the children, and/or working on an individual basis and as a part of the Eldora team is also a possibility. Junior Instructors could assist children in group classes or assist in bringing a child or two up to speed to rejoin their original group, all while focusing on individual engagement and progression.

Junior Instructors are also expected to participate in the PSIA/AASI Junior Instructor education program as well as attend mandatory and voluntary training sessions (be part of the SRS Learning Community).

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be: An excellent skier/rider with knowledge of skiing/snowboarding responsibility code
• Able to work during weekends and holidays
• Enjoy working with children between the ages of 4-14 years old

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, work is frequently performed inside. And when outside, one can expect all types of weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces. Indoor time is spent interacting with guests.

Essential Functions

• Standing for an extended period
• Ski/ride safely + confidently in all snow conditions, in varying types of terrain, and demonstrating the responsibility code at all times
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch
• Managing small children
• Cleaning and keeping the Children's Center areas in great condition
• Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to work well with staff, other departments, and the public in stressful situations
• Must provide own ski or riding equipment
