Junior Designer

General Role:
As a Junior Designer, your role is to assist and support the design team on all projects. Having an ability to collaborate, take direction and maintain a positive attitude is a must. You will also be asked to schedule rep appointments, maintain the materials library + order samples, as necessary.
About Our Team:
Main Line Design is a subsidiary of Radical Renovations, a leading General Contractor in the Main Line area. Our design team serves two purposes. Our main objective is to provide a cohesive design-build package for our clients. Our mission is to blend the minds of designers and contractors from the get-go to ensure a seamless transition from concept to completion. Our secondary objective, in the case that a client has elected to bring on an independent designer, is to act as a part of the project management team to ensure our contractors have all the information necessary to efficiently complete the job at hand. Qualifications:
  • Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the design industry, residential experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic building construction methods and materials.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects at on time.
  • Must have at least a 2 or 4 year bachelor degree in Interior Design
  • Positive attitude with a desire to learn new systems, technical programs and skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently on a task.
  • Demonstrated computer and social media skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs. (i.e Power Point, Excel, Word)
  • Proficient in Sketch Up + Photoshop.
  • Experience with PlusSpec preferred.
  • Experience in 3D modeling preferred.
  • Must be a resident of Pennsylvania or be able to commute to location daily.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
Responsibilities:
  • With assistance and guidance from lead designers, we want our Junior Designers to learn and grow while maintaining the following responsibilities:
  • Producing project mood boards.
  • Drafting proposed plans at direction of lead designers.
  • Product and materials sourcing.
  • Production of design presentations.
  • construction documents.
  • 3D models.
  • installation plans.
  • Attend site visits and or client meetings.
  • Update and maintain social media platforms on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Assist lead designers in tracking orders, warehouse coordination and installs.
  • Attend and participate in furniture installs.
  • Must be local to the area and able to be in house every day
