LG2 delivers full-service, environmental science, natural and biological resource, cultural and historical resource, and NEPA services worldwide, with over 25 years of successful project performance. LG2 has an immediate opening for a Junior-Level Biologist/ Wetland Scientist in our Jacksonville, FL office. This position will report to and receive mentoring from senior staff and perform various tasks including but not limited to:

Job Duties:

  • Conduct Environmental Site Assessments, Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations
  • Wetland Delineation, Wetland Characterization
  • T&E and Wildlife Surveys
  • Permit Applications
  • Report Preparation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Science, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or science related field
  • 0 - 4 years of experience in the environmental industry
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% on average with extended overnight stays
  • Strong organizational, technical writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel
  • Positive attitude, good interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Be able to walk between 1 and 3 miles on job location
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be able to pass a background check for entry onto federal facilities,
  • Drug/Alcohol screening and a Background check is required

NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of natural landscapes and construction sites. Job assignments may involve work on hazardous waste sites and may require use of Personal Protective Equipment to evaluate or sample hazardous materials. Participation in a medical surveillance program may be required and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites.
