Job Title: Partnership Coordinator; three-quarters time contract, flexible work place with partial remote work possible, pay DOE range from $45,000 - $55,000 annually

About Kenai Watershed Forum: The Kenai Watershed Forum (KWF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is recognized as the regional watershed organization of the Kenai Peninsula, successfully identifying and addressing the needs of the region by providing high quality education, restoration, and research programs. KWF’s mission is “working together for healthy watersheds on the Kenai Peninsula.” KWF is a dynamic organization dedicated to our rivers, streams and surrounding communities of the Kenai Peninsula and Alaska for current and future generations.
Position Summary:
KWF is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, conservation-minded, and team-oriented individual to coordinate the Kenai Peninsula Fish Habitat Partnership. The KPFHP is a geographically focused, locally driven and scientifically based effort to protect and restore fish habitat on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula.
The KPFHP Coordinator will elevate the Partnership’s ability to protect and restore fish habitat by improved collaboration and alignment among its 30+ partners, including conservation professionals, tribes, elected officials, and industry leaders. The Coordinator will work closely with the KPFHP Steering Committee and oversees effective operation of the KPFHP. This position will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of Kenai Watershed Forum.
The candidate will also be expected to work independently and should be capable of communicating technical and non-technical information to a variety of audiences.
Position Workload Allocation:
50%: Partnership development and communication
20%: Coordination and administration of KPFHP Steering Committee activities
20%: KPFHP annual Request for Proposals (RFP)
10%: Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: (required and desired)
- BA/BS degree or higher - Required
- Focus on fisheries, biology, or environmental sciences – Desired
- 3-5 years professional experience in environmental sciences or similar field – Desired
- Experience developing and implementing fish habitat conservation, restoration, and strategies – Desired
- Solid verbal and written communication skills – Required
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at the local, regional, and national level – Required
- Experience with promoting, evaluating, and distributing grant funding – Desired
- Familiarity with peninsula-wide fish habitat conservation and restoration activities – Desired
- Possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record – Required
