POSITION IS LOCATED IN BASTROP, TX

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist the Kitchen Manager in maintaining a clean kitchen area and in preparing meals. Because you are always in contact with the clients, and staff from multiple departments, this position requires tact, sensitivity and professionalism. As the Kitchen Assistant, you are a member of the Culinary Department. You and your team are responsible for supporting the Willow Springs Recovery Mission, Vision, Values and achieving our Company goals.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet Willow Springs Recovery’s Standards established for the Culinary department.
• Read, understand, and comply with State Regulations established for Food Service departments.
• Washes and stacks dishes, pots and pans.
• Keep dishwasher, dish-washing area, pot and pan area, and dumpster area clean. Glasses and cups shall be stored inverted in a sanitary manner.
• Collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers. Empties all trash and cleans trash cans. Washes garbage/trash cans each day.
• Sweep and mop floor daily. Uses approved EPA/JTC cleaning products.
• Assist Kitchen Manager and Kitchen Assistant upon request.
• Clean and press linen tablecloths on tables for every meal. (May use substitution for breakfast.)
• Pre-set tables for every meal per guidelines in Culinary Department.
• Remove all debris from dining room prior to each course being served.
• Present a clean and neat appearance, wearing aprons, hair nets, and other protective clothing as necessary.
• Be fully knowledgeable of the fire evacuation and disaster policy of Willow Springs Recovery and participates as assigned in fire and disaster drills.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning clients and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of Willow Springs Recovery and the Care, Comfort, and Happiness of our clients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES: The following requirements and preferences will be evaluated and verified to establish employment eligibility.

1. 2-5 Years of experience Kitchen Assisting in a culinary department.

2. High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Must be flexible and be reliable

4. Attendance for scheduled shifts is crucial

5. An eye for details and willingness to follow directions are important

6. Ability to work as part of a team
