Job description
Eastridge Workforce Solutions is now hiring a Lab Technician that will be responsible for lab operations and daily management, as well as conduct research within the Advanced Materials Lab's mission of developing materials for next-generation battery systems.
Responsibilities:
- Candidates should be comfortable with lab settings, procedures, and operations, and should have excellent written communication and presentation skills for the preparation of technical reports, patent applications, SOPs, and other such documents.
- Applicants should also have demonstrated lab experience in R&D and the ability to design, conduct, and analyze research experiments with minimal supervision.
- Ideal candidates will also have previous experience in the characterization and testing of electrochemical materials using techniques such as SEM, EIS, and assembly and cycling of battery cells.
- Lab maintenance and operation, including purchasing and inventory management
- Assembly and testing of experimental battery cells to evaluate the properties and performance of new battery materials
- Acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of experimental data
- Preparation of technical reports and presentations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or other related fields, with 2+ years of experience working in materials or device R&D in a lab environment or equivalent
- Experience working with the synthesis and/or characterization of inorganic or organic materials
- Research experience working with batteries or electrochemical testing, using techniques such as EIS, CV, or running cycling tests
- Experience working with air-sensitive chemistry using a glove box is a plus
